Chartered Building Surveyor
Job Description

Location: Based in our Carlisle office
Contract: Permanent, Full-Time

Walton Goodland specialise in portfolio management and have an opportunity for an experienced Building Surveyor to work with our team of General Practice Surveyors on diverse projects including refurbishments, extensions, planned maintenance and other projects, with a varied range of clients across Cumbria and beyond.
Walton Goodland is a Limited Company, offering a broad range of commercial surveying services including property management, landlord and tenant, agency, property advisory & estate management.
As a Building Surveyor
You will draw on your knowledge and experience of building surveying to provide a variety of services, including those relating to the ongoing maintenance and management of our managed portfolios as well as dilapidations, building pathology, building surveys and contract administration.
You will play an essential part of a busy and professional team, providing the best and most cost-effective solutions for our client’s varied property portfolios. You will be able to work successfully within a competitive market, demonstrating strong and efficient performance capabilities, with a focus on service excellence and client satisfaction.
To be successful in this role, you will:
- Hold an RICS accredited Building Surveying degree with post degree experience of working as a Building Surveyor
- Member of RICS or ideally working towards full membership via the APC pathway.
- Produce, submit and manage planning, building regulation and listed building applications.
- Produce schedules of work and specifications for dilapidations, insurance and condition assessments
- Coordinate and work collaboratively with other disciplines including Architects, Mechanical Engineers, Electrical Engineers, Structural Engineers, Quantity Surveyors and CDM Advisors.
- Visit sites to attend meetings, carry out inspections and surveys when required.
- Carry out project design and complete H&S risk assessments to meet current CDM regulation requirements.
- Be committed to maintaining an annual programme of Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
- Carry out building surveys and write building survey reports and Schedules of Condition
- A full UK driving license and ability to travel when required
